How to Start the Finish the Masterwork Weapon Quest

Read Highcliff's Blueprint in Blighted Village

You can start this quest by reading Highcliff's Blueprint, found in his basem*nt and forge in Blighted Village. Make your way inside the village through combat, bribery, intimidation, perception, or deception, as the Goblins have taken over the area.

Go to the nearest house in the east entrance of the village, where a Goblin is standing at the edge of that house. Enter the basem*nt by burning the spider web inside the house and jumping down or lockpicking the door below the Goblin. We recommend burning the web to save up on Thieves' Tools.

Once inside, look for the chest near a ladder and open it, but be careful as a trap is attached to the chest. You won't be able to see it if your characters fail the passive Perception Check, so reload a previous save to try again. You can disarm the trap using a Trap Disarm Toolkit and successfully pass the Skill Check (DC10).

Loot Highcliff's Blueprint in the chest and read it. It will automatically go to your Journal, and you can start doing the quest!

How to Complete the Finish the Masterwork Weapon Quest

Go to Sussur Tree and Grab a Sussur Tree Bark

Journey to the Underdark and look for the Sussur Tree Bark mentioned in the blueprint. You can find it in Sussur Tree located in the western part of the Underdark.

How to Get the Sussur Tree Bark

• Go to the Underdark and travel to the western part of the map until you reach the Sussur Tree.
• Eliminate four Hook Horrors and a Drow Mage to search the area safely.
• Head up through the vines and get closer to the Sussur Tree.
• Grab the Sussur Bark nearby. You can press the Item Label key or button to spot it easier.

How to Get a Sussur Tree Bark

Go Back and Use the Bark on the Furnace

Return to the forge in Blighted Village once you have the Sussur Tree Bark. Put and combine it with the furnace to upgrade the fire. You can then start forging a weapon mentioned in the blueprint after that.

Forge a Weapon of Your Choice

You can choose from the three weapons indicated in the blueprint, a Greatsword, a Sickle, and a Dagger, to use and create one of the masterwork weapons. You can only choose and create one of the masterwork weapons.

Which Masterwork Weapon Should You Choose?

Choose the One with Proficiency Bonus on Your Main Character

Pick the Masterwork Weapon with a proficiency bonus on your main character, or at least your main party members. You won't be able to use them at their maximum potential if you choose the wrong weapon for them.

• Sussur Sickle - Pick Sussur Sickle if you have a character that has a powerful throw. It is a ranged weapon despite being a "Sickle".
• Sussur Greatsword - Choose the Sussur Greatsword if you always use a character that can wield it. It's best to equip on frontline classes, like a Fighter.
• Sussur Dagger - Sussur Dagger is best to equip on Rogues. If one of your main party members have that class, consider picking this.
